How do I charge an NSF check fee?
After you reverse a payment on an NSF check, you can bill a fee for the returned check.
Charging an NSF check fee
1. Open Connect Utility Management > Customers > Enter Manual Billings.
2. Click to select the field titled Customer.
3. Enter the customer number with the NSF check. Press Enter.
The bottom pane displays the customer's billing services.
4. Find the row titled Miscellaneous.
5. Click on cell in the row titled Miscellaneous under the column titled Statement Description.
6. Enter NSF Check Fee as the Statement Description.
7. Press Enter to move the cursor to the column titled Amount.
8. Enter the NSF check fee.
9. Continue press Enter to move through the remaining fields and save the transaction.
When the form clears, the transaction recording the NSF check fee is saved as a manual billing
transaction.
