Setting Up User Rights in miViewPoint for Your Auditor

You may want to provide miViewPoint access to your auditors.  By doing this, they can be more self-sufficient in gathering information from your financial systems such as getting GL detail, viewing invoices, and more.  To setup those user rights, follow the instructions below:

  1. Have someone with Admin rights login to miViewPoint.
  2. Go to Administration | Users and Groups | Groups.
  3. Click the Add New button at the bottom.
  4. Enter a Group Name (e.g. "Auditors").
  5. Select the Payroll Departments you would like to provide access to.
  6. Click on the Tabs tab.
  7. Select the tabs you would like to provide access to.  Recommended tabs are as follows: General Ledger | Account Lookup, General Ledger | Journal Lookup, Accounts Payable | Vendor Lookup, Payroll | Leave Time.  Feel free to select any other tabs you feel would be beneficial for the auditor.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Go to Administration | Users and Groups | Users.
  10. Click New User in the upper right.
  11. Enter the Email address of the auditor you want to provide access.
  12. Enter their First Name and Last Name
  13. Select the "Auditors" group or whatever you named the group in step 4 above in the User Groups field.
  14. Click Save.
The auditor will receive and email to verify their email address is legit.  Once that is complete provide the auditor with the URL/web address of miViewPoint so they can login and start doing their work.
