Setup Barcode for miViewPoint Extreme to Import Checks

This article helps customers interface the check image with the invoice through miViewPoint Extreme.   Outlined are the steps for Caselle Clarity and Connect.  Clients may choose to show the barcode on the check form or not.   These instructions setup a displayed 3 of 9 barcode font on the check form.   If the client does not wish to see the barcode, set the ‘Position’ on text box setup to these settings:  Top=-.11”; Left=.00”; Width=.00”.

1.  (Optional - you don't have to use a barcode if the client doesn't mind seeing *CheckNumber* on their check form) Install the True Type Font barcode font
      a)       Clients may obtain a free barcode font from the web (ie: http://www.barcodelink.net/barcode-font.php).  Download the font to a common location on the network.
      b)      The usual font is 3of9 Tall.
            
      c)       The font should be installed on each workstation that will print checks.  Right click on the font and left click on “Install”.
            
2      Setup the barcode on the Caselle forms.
      a)       Go to Accounts Payable – Reports – Checks
      b)      Select the report utilized for check printing – select the forms tab – note the name of the form – select the pencil (edit)  
             button to the right of the name – select the proper form and click ‘Open’.
      c)       Click the ‘Forms Detail’   button.
      d)      On the General tab, click the ‘New row’   button. 
      e)      Select ‘Text’ and click Accept.
      f)        Setup a text box as shown below.  Change the ‘Position’ location to meet the client needs.
      g)       Enter this into the ‘Value’ section:  *{ Check Number [ChkNo][Format=########0]}*

            
3.  Setup the ‘Checks’ report form to save to a common network folder.
      a)       Accounts Payable – Reports – Checks.
      b)      For each report that is utilized to print checks, change the setting on the ‘Forms’ tab – ‘Form Print Settings’ sub-tab.  *This process MUST be done on the                   ‘Forms’ tab. 
      c)       Select Forms tab – Form Print Settings sub-tab – check the radial box for ‘Save as’.
      d)      Select the ‘Save As/Export’ sub-sub-tab and complete the following:

i)        Save as type:   PDF

ii)       File Name:  Enter a mapped, or UNC, drive path to a common location on the server.

iii)     Utilize the Variables to add ‘Date’ and ‘Time’ to the name of the PDF file.



How to add in Connect (2023.02 and later)
1.   Accounts Payable - Reports - Checks
2.   Select the check to modify and go to the 'Forms' tab
3.   Select the desired form and select 'Edit this Form' 
      
4.   Select the option for Label  
5.   Select the desired location for the miViewPoint check layout
       a.  Hold down the left mouse button and drag to the right to create the desired size box.
       b.  Release the left mouse button and select the setting icon.
            
       c.  Change/Edit the fields.
             1.  Text:   mVP Check Number
             2.  Expression:  Click on the ellipsis box and add:   Concat('*', FormatString([Variables].[Check.Check number], '########0'), '*')
                  
               3.  Click OK.
6.   Click Save   for the form - Exit.
            
7.   On the forms tab, select the 'Save as' radial box - select the 'Save as' tab.
8.   Enter the file location.
      
9.   Save the changes to the report.
